Yurt on York is a unique eco-friendly property set on an acre block in Martinborough, NZ. It is the perfect getaway for couples who want an escape from the city.
Built in 2016, Yurt on York is a Blue Mountain Yurt crafted especially for New Zealand and Australian climates. The yurt is an impressive 9.14 metres in diameter and 4.2 metres tall under the dome!
We have fitted out the yurt with a super-king bed, leather couches, beanbags, fireplace, small tv, dining setting, and a couple of cabinets. You can use either the centre light or the LED lighting around the edge.
Yurt on York has many eco-friendly features including solar, Natural Flow Septic System, and eco-friendly toiletries, cleaning supplies and kitchen products.
Outside, you’ll find the BBQ, outdoor bath, and outdoor table. The section has been thoughtfully planted with over 1500 native plants, including Kowhai trees and flax bushes to attract the birds.
Keep your eye out for Tuis, Fantails, and Bellbirds. You might also hear a Morepork or two at night. Also helping to attract the birds, we have a bird bath, bird house, bird feeder and a Tui specific feeder. Please take a stroll through the section and see how many different plants and birds you can spot!
A short walk will get you into the heart of Martinborough Village, with charming cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and cinema.
